I am sure it has been asked thousands times already. Why can't I locate bootdisks for Redhat7.1? Are they the same as for the 7.0? WHere the original bootdisks for 7.0 ever updated? If I already have bootdisk for 7.0, do I need to redownload? Best regards, Victor PS Please be advised that downloading .iso images for installation cD's is not an option for me at this time. ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 15+ messages in thread

This feature is NOT in speakup 0.10A. It was introduced after that release and only exists in CVS. Having said that, as Bill already mentioned, the redhat bootdisks use the March 17th CVS version so the above is true for those. Geoff. ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 15+ messages in thread

Therefore, all synthesizers are available. These disks can be found at: ftp://speakup.octothorp.org/pub/redhat-7.1/d1/images/ At the boot prompt, you should type: text speakup_synth=<value>. For example, text speakup_synth=dtlk At the question about adding parameters to the kernel that you'll see during LILO configuration, you should put the same parameter. For example: speakup_synth=audptr This assumes that you're lucky enough to have an Audapter. <grin> If there is already something in the field such as hdc=ide-scsi, put your speakup parameter after it making sure that there's a space between them.
