I'm after recommendations on a good outbound smtp preferably secure relay. I
don't mind paying for it.
At the moment my isp gets blocked by Comcast and other isps from time to
time.
message volume 30 messages or so a day, we do run a listserve.

dyndns.org does it anywhere else I should look at?
Regards, kerry.

Google. Just use their smtp server with ssl/tls, and you should be good to
go. You'll need a gmail account, but that's easily solved if you don't have
one ... If they are still requiring that you be invited, just ask me, and
I'll send you an invite.

Take care,
Sina

I am using the outbound mail hop relay service from dyndns.com. It's $18
per year for 150 messages per day. It works well and was very easy to set
up in FC9 Sendmail. I have dns service from them too because my ISP
(Verizon FIOS) doesn't offer residential static IP services.

Jim

Thanks for the hint however google's servers sometimes hold mail for periods
of time and since it is a free service there is nobody to complain to if
something goes wrong.
I might have it as a backup option and dyndns as a primary.
I do have a gmail account but thanks for the offer.
Regards, Kerry.

Kerry,

I recommend looking at www.fastmail.fm, which I have been using for
quite a few years.

Chuck

One I've seen recommended but haven't used is smtp.com. One of the
Project Gutenberg posting team uses it for sometimes several messages
per day. You might also want a cheap webhost account that provides an
alternative outgoing smtp port such as 587. You could look at
http://fastmail.fm/ and http://mailandfiles.com/ which claim to offer
such services. The later is run by freelists.org if it's still around.
You could also upgrade to a business account which doesn't block ports.

Port blocking isn't the problem it's that my reverse ip shows as beeing yn a
dynamic dialup pool.
Trust me you don't want to upgrade to a business account in Australia it
ain't cheap.
Regards, Kerry.
