Michael,
As an old line editor guy, I prefer ex, which is the line editor version
of vi. You might try it.
If you like that one, you should have a look at edbrowse.

Larry

Yeah, just be prepared to compile it yourself if you're running
Debian, as it hasn't been upgraded in over a year.

Hi, should be ok. Is it in the original kernel? If not, download vinux.
Vinux is ubuntu, with speakup and orcer.

It's not in the kernel, but the modules are easy to compile. Issue with
Vinux is the bloat. If he just wants a cli setup, a 800+ mb Vinux is
going to be a pain. Not bashing Vinux, for those who like it, I just
find it a bit much for what I want.

Yeah I agree it's bloated, but remember speakup is now in the kernel
anyways, but in the meantime it will get someone started.
I use Vinux CLI.

Thanks for the suggestion but line editors don't seem to have ever
really clicked with me. May be its because I am using a Braille display
as well so sometimes its nice just to review a whole chunk of text
without thinking which lines you want to look at.
