Hello

I was wondering if there's any plans to create a speakup package for ubuntu
8.04? I've been trying to compile my own kernel but have discovered that my
laptop requires the linux-restricted-modules, and these are proving
difficult to re-compile.

In Ubuntu Feisty, it seemed that the kernel-patch-speakup package could be
installed directly without installing a new kernel. Could someone possibly
explain how this worked?

Many thanks

Alastair Irving
