Hi all I know this is a bit outdated, but I have downloaded the shrike 3 cd set and am trying to install but yet again, the stupid boot commands are really annoying me. I am using the following I found on a fedora wiki text speakup_synth=bns speakup_ser=0 is this right? If so, why am I not getting speech? The cabling / settings on my bns are fine. Actually I'm using a blazer but same difference. Thanks for any help. Cody ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 7+ messages in thread

I still don't know why you want it--that version is years old and has probably got security wholes to rival swis cheese. Mightn't Fedora be more to the point? I'm not sure why it isn't talking: I've never used it, but I can say for sure that you don't want to use periods in the speakup parameters. That's a git-specific change and relatively recent. Sorry I can't be of more help. Best, Zack. On Sun, Jun 01, 2008 at 02:38:30PM -0700, Cody Hurst wrote: > I was under the impression that redhat 9 was also called shrike.
