Hi all.
I'm running debian testing, and whenever I run apt-get update, I see
this at the end:
W: There are no public key available for the following key IDs:
F1D53D8C4F368D5D
W: There are no public key available for the following key IDs:
F1D53D8C4F368D5D
W: GPG error: http://security.debian.org testing/updates Release: The
following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is
not available: NO_PUBKEY F1D53D8C4F368D5D
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
I've ran apt-get update 4 times over the last 4 weeks, and the problem
isn't being corrected. My understanding is that /etc/apt/trusted.gpg
contains the key ring that apt-get uses, but I don't know if it's a
good idea to mess with that key ring manually, since it might create
more issues.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance as well.

Greg,
You need to import the key indicated in the error message and move it to
the proper place. The documentation says to run the following three
commands (you probably don't need to run the first one):
apt-get install gnupg
The second command needs to refer to the fingerprint shown in your error
message. It says:
gpg --keyserver keyring.debian.org --recv 07DC563D1F41B907
Then the third command is as follows:
gpg --armor --export | apt-key add -
You do all that as root, of course. Then you will be okay.

Thanks Chuck, that did the trick. Mind sharing how you came across
this bit of info?

Greg,
I subscribe to the debian-user mailing list, which is an extremely
active list. Too much traffic for mere mortals most of the time. But
occasionally some really good information surfaces there. Often someone
just answers a question by giving a link to a wiki or other brief
tutorial on the subject, and as I recall, I gleaned this stuff from such
a posting some time ago. The signing of archives was first introduced on
unstable and is migrating downward (upward?) to testing and probably
eventually stable.
