Hello!
I have written to some other lists with this problem but I haven't been
able to solve this problem.

when I shall compile speech dispatcher it needs festival lite shared
libraries.
Therefore I took the /lib in the flite directory and put it in /lib.
and everything goes well until i get:
checking for register_cmu_us_kal
checking for register_cmu_us_kal16

error flite voice library required.
I've been up the hole night and worked with this.

so what shall I do about the problem.
help!!!!!!

How was flite built? If from source, did you use the --enable-shared
configuration argument when running the configure script?

Hello!
I've tested two configurations.
the first one:
./configure --enable-shared
make
./configure --enable-shared --with-vox=cmu_us_kal
and the same thing.
what is wrong?

When you installed flite, did you install it with the make install
command? In your first email, you said you copied the libraries to /lib.
Have you tried moving them from /lib into /usr/lib?

Hi,
I had to run ldconfig after compiling and installing flite before
speech-dispatcher picked up the flite libraries.

Ok. Try going to your /usr/lib directory, and removing all files
beginning with libflite. So something like this:

# cd /usr/lib
# rm libflite*

Then go back to the directory where flite was built, and run make
install again.

Run ldconfig once more.

Then as a final measure to ensure, delete the speech-dispatcher
directory, and unpack it again.

Make sure that the directory containing the libraries is in your
/etc/ld.so.conf file.
My flite libraries is in /usr/local/lib so i added /usr/local/lib to my
/etc/ld.so.conf file and ran ldconfig as root.
There is no rpms for speach-dispatcher or speech-up that i know of.
Regards, Willem

Hello!
Sucsess!!!!!!

I finally after many hours of searching. (in the night) I have found two
rpms for festival lite 1.2

I installed them. now speech dispatcher works!!!!!!!
great!!!!!

Only some stuff left. compiling speechd-up, compiling the festival
utilities to get festival to work, and I'm done with this.
I hope that it will work.

ok, one more question. shall i run festival--server before I run
speech-dispatcher or speechd-up?
or will dispatcher take care of that for me?

/kristoffer
