I don't want to have to re-boot my system, but the power from my braille pad
was off for a while, and when I plugged the power back in, speakup is not
responding.
the computer seems to be okay.
What is the hot keys for shutting down & restarting speakup?
Thanks

I believe the key stroke you're looking for is insert, and enter, on
the numpad.

To restart Speakup completely, use the print screen key found above the
insert key which is in the six pack.

What does insert+enter, on the numpad, really do? Because If I use it I notice
speakup still speaks, just not as much I.E. no announcement when there is cursor
movement.

To: Sean McMahon, Speakup is a screen review system for Linux.
Keeps Speakup on just doesn't speak text that comes up on the screen.
Kind of like pressing enter on the numpad, but that turns back on if you
press a key.

Insert + 0 causes Speakup to not speak new text as it is displayed on
screen, but allows you to still use screen review keys, etc.
