There have been several postings here recently about DSL modem
configuration. In case it's helpful, below is the list of URLs that directly
access the various configuration pages on a Westell Wirespeed 327W. Getting
to these from the main page at 192.168.1.1 is very speech unfriendly. But,
by going directly to these addresses, all of the options can be configured.
Initiating new DSL service (at least with Verizon) can be accomplished
completely through these addresses and an external web account setup page,
all without installing any software on home PCs.

Also, the Westell can be placed in bridge mode and connected to a Linksys
running OpenWRT. The required PPPoE service runs in the Linksys and
everything in the home network can then be configured via command line
interface to the Linux OpenWRT firmware in the router.

Westell may use these same addresses on other DSL boxes besides the 327W .

Jim! You rock, man! I found a couple of these; got a couple from the
Verizon tech support guys (who were actually helpful for a change).
Reading icky Javascript is really a pain! Anyway...I don't think
Westell could've come up with a worse, more unfriendly design for
their router interface if they'd tried. It is without a doubt the
worst interface I've ever seen, and that it refreshes about every 10
seconds doesn't help.

Believe it or not, Verizon here in Erie is set up with a bridged
connection--no PPPoE here!

Now if I could just find an inexpensive wireless card for my upstairs
desktop....

The Foxconn WLL-3350 is about $20 at Newegg. You need to get
spiderserial and compile their driver to use it.

I must add that the machine I'm running this on is somewhat unstable. I
don't know if it's the card or something else yet.

I actually tried that router/modem as well and found it impossible so
I ended up using a Linksys router behind the Westel. I don't
understand why it refreshes, but I couldn't find any means to prevent
this so its ugly if your using a screen reading application.
If someone figures this out, they'd be ahead of the game.
