Hi.
Is there
 any difference in system resource availability if I load Linux from a dos
prompt as oposed to loading Linux right from the Lilo prompt?
Just curious.

AFAIK no, there's no difference.
they both kick out the BIOS and any "real-mode" programs that are running, 
the only difference is the method used, LILO uses native code and a few BIOS 
vectors, loadlin uses VCPI.
