Hi guys,

Is it possible to do the whole deal, from start to finish using software
speech? So where I specify the synth, can I specify a software synth and do
the install of Fedora 2? Then boot up with Speakup 1.5, then run a checkout
script to get the latest speakup?

I know I probably skipped about 20 steps in there...but is this general plan
workable?

Take care,
Sina

Hello,
I'm new to the list but am not a new Linux user.
I'm gathering the components i need to do a speakup install with
software speech. I'm wondering what synth gives the best responsiveness and
has the highest speech quality? I'm most use to Dectalk and Eloquence synths
on the windows platform. I've heard of Festival and flite but don't know how
they sound. Espeak i've heard i think with grml? I can't get use to it kind
of hard to follow.
If anyone has any speech samples or recommendations i'd love to hear
them.
Thanks.
Dave.
