Looked on the website and link to ftp site but could not find the file for
SpeakFreely reflector for Windows. Apologies if I am missing something
here - could you give the ftp address or info on which directory to search?

Its not the reflector which is on the ftp site, just an improved
version of the executable which includes mixing.

You need to get speakfb.zip and the speakfre* files in the goodies
directory at ftp://linux-speakup.org/pub/linux/goodies.  Unpack
speakfb.zip into your favourite directory, drop speakfre.exe into the
directory and start playing.

So please someone, why, when I run the .exe file, do I get the following
error:
error starting program:
The Speakfre.exe file is linked to missing export DSOUND.dll:11?
Any help welcomed - I would like to be able to chat if possible.T

You need the original package from speakfreely.org and then you can
replace the executable with the one at the speakup ftp site for
improved functionality.

OK Kirk John and others
I am still getting the same error as previously when I run the speakfr.exe
file.
I downloaded and unzipped speakfb.zip, speakfr.exe and also
speakfreely-jfwscrp.zip and unzipped/put all in the same directory.
As said above, when I run speakfr.exe I still get the same error:
The Speakfre.exe file is linked to missing export DSOUND.dll:11.
Am I missing something here or should I just stick to Windows :)

I have dsound.dll in my windows\system directory -- perhaps it came
along with my sound card.
Or it might be associated with the DirectX package from Microsoft --
you should probably make sure you have the most current version of
that.
