Hi,

I'm working on a new instance of Debian Woody, and have noticed that I
appear to have no local loopback internet device. That is, any
attempt to reach 127.0.0.1 fails. A ping says "network is
unreachable". When I try reaching by hostname "debian", an attempt is
made to reach "127.0.0.1" (localhost). Even stranger is the fact that
I can access any other internet host. I've never seen a machine
without local loopback. How do I add this?

Any thoughts?

-Dave
