I thought it worked on the 3 and 4 series, but it seems that it only works on the 3 series. I myself don't use brltty but my own jabt. With jabt my Alva 340 works with the parallel driver and because brltty has the same driver, I think that it will work with brltty too. I must say that there still is a bug in the parallel driver:( it works for a while and than it hangs. You than have to kill jabt/brltty and start it again, sorry. However BRLTTY reset the driver periodically to go around the bug Jos is mentionning, so it shouldn't be the problem. If you want to use BRLTTY with the parallel port, be sure you configured Alva/brlconf.h accordingly before compilation and ensure there is *no* parallel-port-related kernel driver running. I tried tis, but it still doesn't work. Might it be that the 440 uses another protocol for the paralel communication than the 340? Jabt doesn't work either. Does any of you have suggestions to other things I might try? Has anyone ever used an ABT 4 series? BTW, I and others have had a problem with BRLTTY returning "Segmentation fault" when we define the ABT_TYPE in Alva/brlconf.h to eg. del440. I'll see what's wrong with the segfault. Thanks. On Wed, 12 Jan 2000, Stein Erik Skotkjerra wrote: > Hi! > I tried tis, but it still doesn't work.
