However BRLTTY reset the driver periodically to go around the bug Jos is mentionning, so it shouldn't be the problem. If you want to use BRLTTY with the parallel port, be sure you configured Alva/brlconf.h accordingly before compilation and ensure there is *no* parallel-port-related kernel driver running.
