Hi,
I can't remember if the CLI eMail is called Links or Lynx or whatever, but
does anyone still use that client?
I used it once before, and I don't recall how well it works, like for
attachments, and following links and such.
Can anyone comment?
Thanks.
Glenn

Both links as in a chain, or lynx as in a cat, are browsers, both of
which are under development.
Lynx as in a cat does allow one to incorporate mail sending, not sure of
your goals exactly?
There is certainly pine and its other programs for email, again what you
are seeking is not clear here.

hello. Can you provide some more context? You're naming text based web browsers, but
discussing e-mail clients. I'm a bit confused about the question.
-thanks

Maybe I'm mixed up, I thought links was a CLI based eMail client, but it's
been years and perhaps I got it confused with the browser.

Yes, both are browsers, one can send email from within lynx, come to
consider you can do it in links the chain as well.
but if your goal is to view email, you likely mean something else.
perhaps mail2web?

Hi All: The nice thing in Alpine, you can configure it to click on urls in an
e-mail. As far as any atatchments which you would receive, you would hit a v
and look over any which you can save.

Anyone here use gMail with Alpine and experience any issues with the new
gMail two step verification and gMail blocking apps they consider unsecure?
Google just started blocking some clients, and it isn't fixable through
gMail settings any more.

Glenn,
While I do not use Alpine outside of a work e-mail, the developers claim?
to have created a solution for the problem.
Others might have flagged the process as I recently intentionally started
a thread on the Alpine development list for the answer to be circulated.
best,

Hi,
links and lynx are web browsers, not email clients.
As CLI email client you can use mutt (more features) alpine (easier to
configure) or aerc (new, maybe not fully accessible), at least.
Cheers,
Didier
