Hi all. I can't seem to remember how to mark text and then delete the
entire block up to the current cursor position. I used to do this I
remember a while back while editing code, but can't seem to remember how
to do it. Can anyone jog my memory on this one? Thanks!

Just like you do it in pico:
1.) Put the cursor where you want to start the block.
2.) Turn block on with Ctrl-6
3.) Move to the end of what you want blocked
4.) Kill the block with a Ctrl-K
5.) Position the cursor where you want to insert the block.
6.) Do undo with Ctrl-u
7.) Repeat steps 5 and 6 as often and wherever you like.

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could possibly help with a nano question. When
I type in text, nano word wraps just fine. However, if I insert text in
to a file, sometimes the wrapping doesn't happen correctly. It takes the
long part of the line down and stopps. This results in a line which is
much shorter than the others. Can anyone give me a suggestion to fix
this short of going in and retyping the remainder of the paragraph so
that it has the correct formatting? Thanks in advance.

The *best* solution is to use vi, but that's another issue for another
day. *smile* You can use the justify command to fix the line lengths of
all the lines of the paragraph you're in. That's control-j. Also the -r
command line option when running nano lets you specify how long you want
lines to be. So were I using nano for this message I would have used
set editor="nano -r72"

Hi Joseph,
Nano seems not to trigger the word wrap mechanism when inserting
text. I have found that when that happens I can sometimes trigger
it by simply backspacing over the nearest character and then
retyping it, or pressing space and then backspacing it out
immediately. If that doesn't help, pressing function key F4 will
reformat the paragraph into which you have inserted text, and
that should do it.
