Well, I tried logging into my bank's online banking service only to find
that it is no longer accessible. I am not sure what was modified, but
whatever it is the script seems to not be sending the full 16-digits of my
Atm card number as it should. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone here
is/was on one of the Links mailing lists? The only reason I am asking is
because I can't subscribe to anymore lists due to the inability to check
mail often. Speaking of the lists, does anyone know if there is any talk
about exporting the java script functions to a library? Or has anyone
thought of perhaps borrowing Mozilla's Javascript interpreter? The only
reason I am asking all this is because now I can't access my bank anymore
due to some stupid modifications.

It's shit like this that keeps me from getting rid of my winblows
environment. I know, by keeping it around, I probably hide from the
opportunity to get out there and help put up the good fight to improve
web accessibility for text browser users and the like. But it does
overcome an immediate crisis.
I typically will try a web site first in linux by using lynx and if
that fails, I'll try links (the chain) though I haven't ever succeeded
yet with that one. and then boot into winblows to use the 'exploder'.
I will say that Window-Eyes does a fine job with IE but I sure wish we
could do all that with the tools available in linux.
But this answer sure doesn't help someone who might not have access to
winblows nor afford it!

Hi. For Mozilla's javascript interpreter check out
http://www.mozilla.org/js/spidermonkey
If you use Debian unstable, you can install it as Debian packages.
Hope this helps.

You may well get them to change what they're doing fairly quickly,
especially if it's only a matter of the login authentication routines.
Here are some facts you should know:
1.) A major U.S. Federal lawsuit was settled when the defendants,
Bank of America, agreed to make their services accessible. Since then
other banks have followed suit--though not as thoroughly, obviously.
This stands to reason--only B of A is actually under scrutiny.
Still, the point is that we won and they lost. I'm sure your bank
doesn't want to be next on the hit list. Not that you need to threaten
any such thing, in fact it's best if you don't. My advice is to simply
point out that other banks have had to make major changes because of
failing to comply with clear provisions of the 14 year-old Americans
with Disabilities Act (ADA). In particular, Bank of America has a clear
statement about accessibility of its services at the top of its main web
page--it's the very first link, as a matter of fact. Check it out at:
http://www.bankofamerica.com
So, you didn't say what/where your bank is, but you might want to give
them a call--or better still, pay them a little visit.
Let me know if I can help you move this forward.

Hi. It is a lib and a stand alone program that can be used in the
console. You will need to change the source of a browzer to use it.
I still don't understand C enough to add javascript support using this
lib.
I'm still at the point of downloading files and telling the stand alone
interperter to run them.
I don't know anything about javascript, so I'm trying to learn
javascript at the same time I'm trying to find a way to use this thing.
Basically, I don't have anything useful with it, but I don't have
anything useful with Gnopernicus and Mozilla either. Just the fact it
is a console app and a lib that can be linked to a console browzer gives
it an advantage over any solution that requires gnopernicus.
Hope this helps.

Hi Kenny. Is there any browser I could use the interpreter with since I
don't have Gnome installed here yet? Or would I have to get
Gnome/Gnopernikus working and then use Mozilla? I will check out that site
though.
