Well, I just compiled lynx8.5dev16 with current openssl, because I
noticed I did a little better with some websites using my Shellworld
account than I was doing on my own system, and the lynx version was the
only difference I could find. so if there was any problem with openssl, I
shouldn't have one now.

One big question here, Does your new version of lynx work with SSL
without those awful SSL errors? I keep getting an "SSL error, unable
to locate local issuer" or something like that. I hit enter and keep
going but it is annoying none the less since I have to hit enter twice
or more for every SSL link I cross.
Lynx Version 2.8.5dev.9 (06 Oct 2002)
libwww-FM 2.14, SSL-MM 1.4.1, OpenSSL 0.9.6d
Built on linux-gnu Feb 24 2003 22:29:50

Anyway, I wonder if beta16 is past this problem?

There's an option, and I think it's in your .lynxrc, that asks how to
handle SSL errors. Have a look under options (o from inside lynx) for
it...I know it's supported in the version of lynx I'm using, which is
2.8.5-dev.16.

Hi:

For those of us who don't use it, anyone care to tell us what new stuff is
in lynx 2.8.5? Curious minds want to know.

Geoff.

Have only been using it a day, but no errors so far.
Didn't get them in the stable release either, so I wonder what got thrown
in or out that did that.
Will let you all know if I have any problems.

I must with great embarrassment confess that I haven't read the changes.
I just decided to change to 2.8.5dev16 because it's being used on
Shellworld and I discovered at least one website where my cart would fill
and I could order via shellworld but not on my own system. And in fact,
changing to this dev version did solve my problem with that particular
website, though I'm afraid I can't tell you why.
