Hi all. Well, the latest 2.1PRE9 of Links is still choking when having to
execute asp and javascript. I am not sure exactly why this is so, however
I am working on workarounds for the websites I use that direct Links to
some send alerts page with a bunch of html source. And I checked out the
url, and indeed it included asp in there. I don't suppose nobody knows
when the next version is coming out? Plus, not to mention the confusion
here regarding what its real homepage is. I did a google search at one
time and came up with a Links that seems to have been discontinued in
terms of development. I know Kenny and some others on this list have been
playing with it quite a bit. My question is, is this url still correct for
the download page?
http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~clock/twibright/links/download.html

Also, does anyone know if they maintain a cvs repository somewhere? It
would be nice to check out unstable code just to see how development is
going.

May you code in the power of the source,
may the kernel, libraries, and utilities be with you,
throughout all distributions until the end of the epoch.

Hi. That looks like the correct URL for links-2.1. I haven't seen any
messages on the mailing list about CVS access. That group doesn't talk
about what they are doing. They will post a message when they have a
new release, but that's about it.

Well, I think that this type of behavior is somewhat contrary to the opensource
development model? I mean, in order to give feedback, yo uhave to know what the
developers are doing. So you are saying that you are on some kind of Links-dev
list, and they don't talk about what they are doing? I am in fact looking
forward to the next release of Links, hoping that the problems I have been
seeiing have been somewhat fixed. I have checked out their TODO, and not even
that is very descriptive. By the looks of it, it seems that they are no longer
working on enhancing their javascript support? I would try and see what I could
do if I knew anything really about Javascript, which I don't. Hmmmmm. Come ot
think of it, wouldn't a console interface to Mazilla be more than adaquate? I
am saying this because the Javascript/all other support is there, the interface
is just graphical. I am thinking that perhaps this is worth looking into?
Because esentially, what I think the Links people are trying to do is make
their own browser with Javascript support, plugins, etc. Mazilla already has
this. I could be wrong about this, because I have no idea where they are
getting their code from.
