Shortly after 02:30 GMT on Thursday 20 March, the United States and it's
allies including the UK and Australia launched pre-emptive strikes
against Iraq. Pre-emptive strikes are illegal in international law! "All
Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat
or use of force against the territorial integrity or political
independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the
Purposes of the United Nations." Charter of the United Nations, Article
2.4
Broadcast4Peace.org, to go live shortly, seeks to assist in raising
awareness of the illegality of the invasion of Iraq, both through this
web site, and a marathon web cast to commence shortly.
Further, we appeal to visitors to contribute to relief efforts, by
donating what you can to independent international humanitarian
organisations such as the RED CROSS.
We are inviting all webcasters who share our vision to join us in this
broadcast for peace. A common server will be available and webcasters
may be allocated time on this server to broadcast for peace. We will
also consider requests to relay the broadcast on your own station.
As the domain will take some time to propagate, if you are interested in
broadcasting for peace, please contact me at mailto:jonathan@mosen.org

Geoff, while I don't necessarily disagree with you, is it really necessary
to post political messages on this list?
Not that my say really matters here, but I have no desire to see political
messages on a list such as this, regardless of whether I am pro or con the
position.

Hi:
I merely sent this message to a number of lists in order to reach as many
potential broadcasters as possible in the shortest possible time.
linux-speakup.org will be providing server fascilities for the broadcast,
so if you want an on-topic angle ...
As for what should and shouldn't be on the list, that's a matter for the
list administrator and I'm happy to bow to their wishes, whatever they may
be.

to be fare, I'd have to agree with luke on this score.

Frankly what iritates me more than an occasional off-topic message are
posters who do not read and just type before they read. In this case,
we've had one message, one, in which the poster clearly stated that
there would be only one message on this thread. In addition we've had
five or six people complaining about this one message. That seems to
me to be over-kill, especially when the poster of the *quote*
offending message *unquote*** said that this would be the *only*
message on the topic! Get a life folks!! If you can do naught but
complain I suggest you complain elsewhere. You might be better
imployed in fashioning finger restraints for your hands.
Please note, I'm not about to tell anyone how I feel about The War.
However, I do not mind in the least telling people how I feel about
complainers on email lists!
