Hi All,
I can now here wav files when I play them with aplay but the devices that
are supposed to exist like /dev/mixer, /dev/audio, /dev/dsp, etc don't
seem to exist.

Did you run sndevices? Did you load the oss modules? Are you getting "no
such device," or "no such file or directory?" Are you using devfs in your
kernel?

to.
The errors I'm getting are no such device.
I'm using the stock slackware kernel.

Hi Adam. I was working on his box yesterday, and concluded the following.
He is able to play audio with aplay. When catting audio to /dev/audio bash
reported no such device, and /dev/audio is symlinked to /dev/audio0. All
oss modules were loaded snd-pcm-oss and snd-mixer-oss. Snd-seq-oss not
loaded bc not using midi. It may very well be DEV_FS.
May you code in the power of the source,
may the kernel, libraries, and utilities be with you,
throughout all distributions until the end of the epoch.

What about /dev/dsp? Do you still get "no such device?"

Hi All,
I've atached my modules.conf file. Now that I'm using modules.conf even
aplay won't play audio anymore giving me an error about no such file or
directory in respect to the sound devices. If this is devfs what can I do
about that?
