Hi all,
I was looking over the boot messages on this system, and I saw the
following warnings. All of the file systems are supposed to be ext3,
but it doesn't look like they are being treated that way.
Below are the warnings I saw. Can anyone tell me what to do to get rid
of these? Or whether I should be concerned?
Thanks,
William

Did you get any kernel compile errors that you may not be aware of? From
here, it seems like the EXT2_FS driver is recognizing the Ext3 filesystem,
however its treating it as EXT2.
May you code in the power of the source,
may the kernel, libraries, and utilities be with you,
throughout all distributions until the end of the epoch.

I assume that you did upgrade your file systems using tune2fs -j, right?
Cheers.

Hi all,
I did not get any compile errors, and all of the file systems were
upgraded with tune2fs -j.
The problem was that they were marked as ext2 in /etc/fstab. Thanks
Buddy for pointing this out.
That brings up another question though. The root file system
(/dev/hda9) is also an ext3 file system, and it is marked as ext2 in
/etc/fstab. But, it did not generate this warning. Why not?

I'm not sure why it didn't generate a warning, but you should mark it as ext3 in /etc/fstab just the same.

Make sure that you have ext3fs in your kernel, and that your entry in /etc/fstab for that drive lists the filesystem as ext3 and not ext2.

Does /etc/fstab perhapse say ext2 instead of ext3?
Regards, Kerry.
