Subject line says it all really, the files appear ok, the download is
extremely short, and I get the following after typing tar -xzvf <filename>

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Suggestions please?

Cheers.

Hi Toby. Assuming you downloaded the files from freeampp.org, you should
get no broken tar files. Libmusicbrainz is also hosted there as far as I
can remember. Freeamp needs it, however I am not sure exactly what the
library does. Will take a look at when I get some more time here.

Gates go to hell, your OS is waiting for you there!

Igor,

I think it's some client thing similar in nature to cddb, but can't be
certain.

Anyay, Geoff Shang was kind enough to send it to me, but I get the
following error when attempting to compile, after a successful
./configure:

cd . && autoheader
autoheader: error: shell error while sourcing /tmp/ah16952/traces.sh
make: *** [stamp-h.in] Error 1

That's all I get when running the make command.

Cheers.

Hi Toby. What version of gcc do you have? The 3.0.x series seems to break
particular packages. 2.95.2, which is the version I have, works for me. If
you want, I can send you the object files and symlinks you will need in
binary form to you privately if you're interested.

I have 2.95.3 which works for me with everything else, but if you look
again, the make breaks on a shell script.

Cheers.
