[-- Attachment #1: Type: TEXT/PLAIN, Size: 331 bytes --]
Hi all. I tried to add in the right parameters in modules.conf for the
correct sound card. When I try to do modprobe snd-cs4236 it tells me that
lines 93-100 are invalid. I looked at the alsa driver docs, and everything
seems to be correct. Can someone look at my modules.conf and see if I am
missing something? Thanks in advance!

Hi
Well I know that things have moved on but I had to comment that it appeared
that the attached file was generated on a Debian system and as it clearly
states at the top, it should not be edited directly.
You should either edit the current aliases file or just place another file
in the /etc/modutils/ directory and run update-modules
I moved the installed aliases file to a store folder because I didn't think
that I needed any of the stuff in their having built a kernel to meet my
needs and placed the following lines in a new aliases file and run
update-modules.
alias sound_card snd-card-emu10k1
alias mixer snd-mixer-oss
alias pcm snd-pcm-oss
Try the manpage for update-modules on how to correctly load modules on a
Debian system.

Here is my /etc/modutils/alsa file. I copied the pattern in the INSTALL file of
the drivers source package, but I didn't follow the advice to put it in
modules.conf. You aren't supposed to do that in debian, as has been pointed out.
