Ok, I'm still getting this error even though I uncommented the "deplex +" line
for half duplex, ran make clean and ran make.
First question, those were the instructions that displayed with the error, but
do I also have to reinstall the executables.
Otherwise, what else should I look for.
I am using OSS with sblive sound card.

Never mind; I have found the problem, and the problem was 	ME!!!
OSS isn't set to start at boot; if you don't start your sound, of course it
isn't going to work!
DUH!!!!!
wELL, you see, I did that on purpose to make newbies feel comfortable. I get the
dumb award for the day, so nobody else needs to worry.
And if you believe that ....

Hi Cheryl. It would be a good idea to reinstall the new executables just
to make sure that the newly compiled binary (s) don't give you the same
error.

hi, have you tryed to see what groups actually have access to the audio
device /dev/audio?
if you hyaven't I'd do so and add your $ user account to it.
