Hello. There is a bbs that I want to call. This bbs must be contacted by
a modem, and not telnet. What software does a linux machine need for
this?

minicom is a lot like the old DOS program telex. You've probably already
got it installed.

You can go to http://www.columbia.edu/kermit and get c-kermit for Linux.
Although it is distributed freely, it is copyrighted by Columbia
University, and thus is not distributed under the GNU/Public license.
Nevertheless, it is very powerful and very stable software.

minicom is a good choice. Most distros have it already installed.
If not you can install it yourself too. It's pretty easy to use
and offers a nice help system.

If you are good, you will be assigned all the work. If you are real
good, you will get out of it.

Hi, you might try minicom. It is a terminal program, and might do what you
need.
