Hi Chuck and Steve,
Well, when I started using Jac version 0.15 the cddb feature worked fine.
That's why I know the current problems are caused by changes on the server
end rather than anything wrong with jac. Maybe "cddb.freedb.org" will
work. I'll be persistent. When I find out anything I'll let you know.

Jim -
I made the substitution "freedb.freedb.org" in the source code at
the line you indicated, recompiled, and now it works like a charm
again! Thanks to Kerry for the working URL.

Can you guys tell me what is better about jac than cdcd? just curious. I
didn't find the jac program to be any more responsive than cdcd while
inside the console and it exhibitted the same fatal problem I got with
cdcd once when the scsi device somehow got hung and I had to meat axe the
thing to recover my system. For some reason, if I strictly stick with the
command line and don't stick around inside the interactive console I won't
hang the scsi interface.

Steve -
I have used both cdcd and jac, and there does not seem to be
whole lot of performance difference between them. Jac uses
options like -p, -k, -s, etc., where cdcd uses mnemonic words to
do the same thing. I guess it's a matter of taste as much as
anything. I guess they are both GPL products; I know jac is.
