For anybody who is interested, I uploaded a program that I wrote called Dhcp-setup to the Speakup FTP site. This program is meant to help new Linux users setup the DHCP server that comes with most Linux distributions. In the interest of full disclosure, may I say that Redhat distributions include a similar dhcp (and static ip) setup utility by default? RH users should invoke netconf.
