Hi,

If I use the command oine to remove lilo, will the old boot or lack of a boot loader come back so windows will s till boot?

I want to re-install linux, but I want to add other partisions on the drive first for windblows.

You ought not to have to remove lilo for that (or linux, for that matter)...

Linux fdisk can handle Windows partitions. Only thing is, you'll need to boot iinto Linux with a boot disk when Windows is done and re-install lilo to your MBR (probably).

No, in fact, after removing lilo, if you want winblows, you will want to
run the command "fdisk/mbr" several times, then run the command "sys
c:" to make it boot again.

If your boot.0300 (or whatever number) is still in tact which was
created when you installed lilo, then you should be fine, if not, you
might want to use the DOS fdisk /mbr which will definitely wipe out
your lilo configuration.

You will have to use loadlin or a boot floppy to boot linux after
that.

Well, what I would do is partition the drive the way you would like it.
Then, first install Winblows, and then install Linux. While installing Linux
you can config a multiboot with Lilo.
If you get Lilo installed and don't want it at all you can use your win 95,
98, boot floppy and run the command
fdisk /mbr
and then it will restore the normal startup files for Windows.

PS

Make sure the boot floppy you use goes with your exact version of Winblows
or you will have a vary vary messed up mbr.
