I'm curious to know if anyone has any idea of how to coppy and paste with
out using the mouse in linux. If anyone has ideas I'd appreciate it.

Well, that just depends on what tool you're using. Here are a few that
folks use that do this:
screen
vi
vim
emacs
pico
nano
So, what is you want to copy and paste, anyway?

An example is that I have a mud client I use, I need to edit the aliases
so I want to take a section of text and dump it into the client or
something similar to that effect

This is a speakup feature on Kirk's list.
Also, there is a package called screen which can supposedly do that.
Don't know how it is, since I never tried it.

Not yet, I said it is on Kirk's list.
The way this would work (please correct me if I'm wrong Kirk) would be to cut text in one
console, and paste it into something else in another console.

I run a copy of screen on the virtual console I want to cut and paste on.
I then use control-a [ to go into cut and paste mode,
use vi keys to find text I want; mark
beginning and end with hits of t he enter key.
I paste to the ohter window by using control-a space to flick to it and doing
control-a ]
I am a long-time screen user on serial ports; so since speakup doesn't yet cut and pate it is easy
to use screen.
Regards, Kerry.

Hi all,
Um, interesting question. The answer depends on which application you
are using. You can use Pico or Nano with Speakup. However, if you
want a really spiffo editor, I suggest emacs, complete with
emacspeak.

Hi all,
Deedra, speakup is a screen reader, *not* an editor. Linux is an
operating system, *not* a word processor! Your question should be,
what word processors work well with speakup and have the capability to
cut and paste.
Emacs with Emacspeak does this because it is an editor, not a green
reader.

Hi all,
Um, after reading later messages, I see that the question I thought
Deedra was asking is not correct. I apologize.
