Discovery is replacement for CCNA1 and CCNA2 IT Essentials is a general computer technitions course. I wish you the best of luck with your studies, and I hope that you are able to complete the course easily without access to our rmote pod of routers, and virtual accessible environment. You may find the packet tracer exercises challenging, and I sincerely hope the school you study at provides you access to real routers rather than simulators as most do. Our resources are free to anyone who wishes to use them, we charge the $75 per course per semester to cover the administration costs for the certificates etc given it costs to post them all over the world. Our resources augment the existing material; and spare a thought for the hours of work that unpaid volenteers have put into the diagram descriptions as you use them to assist with your understanding. You get a certificate for each course you complete. We'll update this on the site also so that people can see the learning path. Once you have discovery 1 and 2, you can sit CCENT externally; and yes we are offering discovery 3 and 4 later in the year. Once you have discovery 3 and 4 you can sit the full CCNA. Our learning environment does not suit all people; however many find access to the virtual router and workstation bundle is useful; and it is a feature that is not provided by any other academy we know of. Ahem; it just so happens you were enrolled whilst there was an accessability release of the curriculum in July 2008 where all the diagram descriptions prepared by the Curtin team were integrated into the discovery curriculum. Curtin University has been working closely with cisco since 2002 to make the materials accessible. If you'd enrolled back then you would have not gotten past the login screen. Many blind people have been working and testing over the last 5 years to increase the accessability of this material for students. We're trying to get the same concessions from Microsoft, Redhat, Apple and others but are finding the going rough. I'm glad you were able to utilize the accessible material, however note that there are no diagram descriptions in exploration, and you may wish to avail yourself of our free resources to assist you with your studies. There are diagram descriptions on http://www.cucat.org/ prepared by our team that may assist you in your continuing studies.
