well for my debian 32 bit system the packages I needed to install to compile
speech-dispatcher and speechd-up as far as I remember were
libspeechd2 libspeechd-dev libglib2.0-0 libglib2.0-dev
I think that was all I needed it's also a good idea to type ldconfig before
compiling I've found.
