memory/cpu usage monitor:best solution

Hello,
I was wondering what you guys use for memory/cpu usage.
I seen atop, but it looks kinda graphical. any other ideas? I just need to figure out what's using cpu, memory, etc.

For a quick check
top -b -n 1|head
or pipe to a pager, or increase the number of output lines, or whatever you
need.
