Sorry, I've been away from e-mail for a couple of days.

I've moved onto archlinux, but I remember Storm had some instructions of installing speakup on ubuntu.

http://stormdragon.us/

I'm not sure if he's kept it up with the latest release, but since it's his distro of choice, he might know.

hope that helps:-)

Luke has more tightly integrated speakup into Ubuntu in 10.10. All
you do is "apt-get install speakup", which is very cool. He has
proposed to Debian that they incorporate his flow for making this
work.

However, you still need a working synth to use speakup. I haven't
tried espeakup in Ubuntu 10.10, since I prefer to use voxin with
speakup, which only works through speechd-up. However, I assume it
still works as before, so try using Storm's instructions to get
espeakup working. The latest Vinux release, 3.1, is based on Ubuntu
10.10 and uses a modified speechd-up program that makes it work a lot
more like espeakup than the old version.

Hi, Bardia. I get the feeling you are new to Linux, and don't speak
English very well. If this is true, I think you should join the Vinux
Support group, and ask for help from someone who speaks your language.
 The group home page is:

http://groups.google.com/group/vinux-support

Someone there may be able to help you get speakup working with voxin,
which is an older version of Eloquence.

Bill

Hello! All.

line is not so good in English every time I write. I use google translator
now.
Some questions
What is the flite ? they work to speakup and the votes except eloqvense
there is a software synthetizer ? Besides espeak it is too poor and
miserable
And then in Swedish also would be good but what was called speech which was
an old vertion to eloqvense again?
I have ADHD and so sometimes find it hard to write what I mean
Live in Sweden 16 years.
Yes it is true! I'm new to brltty and linux-natal and new to linux in
all cases has always, please only use Windows now go to school, I Widnows xp
home and win seven before I had win 98 and stuff like that in 2000 a long
time ago but then me supernova since a year back I switched to JAWS as my
eye center INSTALLED for me.
I also speak Farsi
So there are blind from Iran that use Linux?
And they are from iran who have e-mail list for those who use computers
And speakup
And so
Sincerely Bardia Zakeri

Which was indeed incorporated, but is actually not needed any more
nowadays since the speakup drivers are now directly in the main linux
source.

Nice! Congrats on that. That's a huge step forward.
