Just thought I'd try this, though I have been unpacking on the Mac with
the Mac tool. I get a segmentation fault with the linux unpack tool
whether I try installing it locally or system-wide. Am I doing something
wrong or is this a known problem that should be brought to their attention?
I'm running debian unstable.
Tia.

Hi Cheryl: I recommend you write Jim Danley at
jim@danleycreations.com. I believe he wrote that program so should
have some suggestions on what might be wrong. It wouldn't surprise me
if it was an out of date library problem though.

Not all ISPs block port 25 in Canada. There are many good providers
which allow their clients to manage their own services. Execulink is
one of them which I have two accounts with. I'm not sure who in the
Toronto area provide such services but I'm sure there are some.

this is who I use and they allow me to manage my own stuff. I am in
Hamilton now and still have their service with static ips and all.
Very stable too.
Brian.

TekSavvy is based out of Toronto opens up port 25. And offers a static IP
for like $4/month. I'm with them in Ottawa.

Hi,
B M I (Bruce Municipal Internet) in the Bruce Peninsula, coversthe Owen Sound and collingwood areas. They do not officially allow hosting, but do not block port 25 or any other ports. Wehn I asked them about hosting, they said, as long as it doesn't interfere with their service to other clients they don't care. 5.0 Mb 800Kb up at $29.99/month and no extra charge for dry-loop.
Service as been great for about a year now.

I just signed up with Arcana yesterday. One problem though: I live in
Kitchener and Arcana have run out of phone numbers for their
residential phone option. I can have a phone number to go with my DSL
in Kitchener, but I'll have a Toronto or Hamilton dialing code...
Regards,
Bob
