A belated thanks: Those etch images from a couple years ago, and the
sarge ones before that, were a real help for a great many folks, myself
included. Your effort was much appreciated.

I have to second that. Thanks Shane for creating them, and putting
them up. They were invaluable for installing debian, when speakup
wasn't a part of it.

I have been seeking for Speakup package for Linux which uses the Debian 
package system. Would this work on a Intell duel core 2.4 hmz in 64 bit 
mode?
