note to the TalkingArch users

Hey folks,
I'll try and push a new TalkingArch before the end of the month.  I'm
hoping to make some good forward progress with it next weekend.
Sorry I've been out of the loop lately.  That's likely to continue for
the foreseeable future.  At least I'm finally settled here in
California, and I'm starting to have more motivation to fool with Linux
in my spare time.  TalkingArch is very important to me, so I'm not going
to let it slide indefinitely.

Need some help? I'm more than willing to help with anything you need. 
Talking Arch is very important to me as well, so other contributors may 
make it easier to get new images out faster and update documentation, 
especially taking into consideration the new installer snapshot system 
Arch uses now. Let me know how I can help, and I'll put my best effort 
forward to keep everything updated and running smoothly,.

Yes, the documentation definitely needs to stay current.  You've been a
big help here, answering questions from various people while I wasn't
bothering to check my personal email.  That's very much appreciated.  If
you want to help with docs, fee free to edit the wiki page.
And this is basically an open-source effort.  If you're up to the task
of folding the latest changes from Arch into the source for TalkingArch,
feel free to clone my git repo and update to your heart's content.  I'll
gladly accept good patches via email, or I could pull them from another
repo, given its URL.
If you have improvements, please share.
Not interested in writing patches?  I can always use a tester who can
also update docs to reflect the current state of the project.

In other words, contributions are definitely welcome.

No problem. I can keep the documentation updated, and I'll likely record 
a new audio tutorial also, since the one that is available is now pretty 
old. I'll also clone the git repo and try to submit some patches. Of 
course you can count on testing. I test new images every time they are 
released so that I can document the process and fix anything that has 
changed in the docs. I don't currently have a server for a git 
repository, but I can probably setup something on my own machine or use 
GitHub. Otherwise, if I make a patch, I don't have a problem submitting 
it by email.

Well, I worked on TalkingArch this morning, and the patching is done.
It wasn't bad.
I'll push later today, and then I'll try to build a new snapshot next
time I have access to a more powerful machine.
I also need to make a new brltty-minimal package, including the systemd
service file from the brltty package in [extra].

Yes, an up-to-date audio tutorial would be awesome.

I'll lend my support as well once I get a working arch install on my 
boxes. Was currently dealing with at-spi crashes and pulseaudio 
weirdness. But I've got time and I like arch so I could lend a hand once 
I get current knowledge. They've made a few changes but it looks like 
with 3 of us beating on this it should run a little more smoothly.

Hi Chris,

I've always appreciated your talking installers for Arch Linux.  I
need to build back up my motivation to deal more with Arch and Linux
in general.  I will be glad to help also.  My big challenge right now
is catching up with the most recent changes to Arch, using systemd and
moving away from udev.  I haven't totally grasped these changes yet
and as I update my system, I have run into some strange issues I need
to fix.

So I might need some help along the way to figure all this out but a
fully systemd complient version of the talking install would be an
excellent move.

Hi,
Yes, the talking Arch is awesome. I really like the systemd changes, and the new method of installing is great.
I have even committed my first package to the Aur, talking-clock-git.
Thanks for all the hard work that goes into the talking Arch project.
