I can't remember truthfully whether the port detection fix is in all
of those drivers or not. The transport driver runs the synth in
porttalk mode instead of Accent mode, so it is considerably different.

Thanks. Will do. I see there is a transport driver? How is this different from the accentsa one? Also, is the problem of the synthesizer not being found where if
I have my synthesizer on com2 and nothing on com1 fixed?

Hi Raul: you need to be in /usr/src/linux/drivers/char/speakup before
you unpack the tar ball. It will overwrite the drivers and some other
files in that directory.

In case I missed this I appologize. I've downloaded the newdrv.tar.gz tarball. Now where O i untar it. I did it in a temp dir and it appears to be needing to go in
the /usr/src/linux directory but I'm not sure where in there from that point.
Any help is appreciated.
