having problems using speakup and kernel 2.6.32.

having problems using speakup and kernel 2.6.32.

I am trying to use latest git and kernel 2.6.32, however when I boot
into the system, speakup sometimes does not echo characters as I type --
it just happens every few characters, but enough to be annoying.  I am
using speakout synthesizer built into the kernel and the speakup core is
also built in.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Build everything as modules and put them in initrd and try again.

I have no way to put modules in the initrd that I know of at the moment.

It shouldn't make any difference but it could. For example the goto function 
crashed the catbox when things were built-in but as modules it works fine. 
So who knows what else may not work the same.

I have foud  that setting no_interrupt to 1 fixed the problem, but it would
be better if no_interrupt world work properly
