Hi,
You should just configure speech-dispatcher in ~/.conf or in
/etc/speech-dispatcher/speechd.conf
to use libao, pulse or alsa.
As long as yuou have the sound set up correctly it should work.
You may have some problems with pulse and orca. But if you launch espeakup
in your current x session with sudo espeakup it should work if your using
pulse.

I have gnome and orca already working so I was wondering if there are any instructions on how to get speakup working so that I can use speakup when I switch to a console window and orca when I use gnome?
