Subject: [gentoo-accessibility] test live cd for amd64
All,
there is now a test iso for amd64 which has speakup and brltty included.
http://mirrors.sfo1.gni.com/Gentoo/ten/livedvd-amd64-10.0-20090909-0915.iso
When you boot this, it should beep when you get to the boot prompt.
- From there, type something like:
gentoo speakup.synth=xxx speakup_synth.ser=x ...
to bring up the system with speakup, or,
gentoo brltty=something ...
to start brltty.
We need people to test this and report back what they find.
For any issues you find, please open bugs at http://bugs.gentoo.org and
have them block bug 281827.
An x86 iso will be out shortly.
Thanks,

So what about 64-bit Intel boxes?

Your life is like a penny. You're going to lose it. The question is:
How do
you spend it?

As far as I know, most of the 64 bit boxes use the amd64 bit
architecture, unless you mean ia64 (the itanium boxes), which I haven't
heard too much about, so I'm not sure about that cd yet.
