http://www.linux-speakup.org/speakup.git the current speakup git?
eg. are patches and work submitted in this repository? Or is there a new
git repo that I'm not aware of?

Daniel,

Glad they work. If you are building other scripts, you might consider
cannibalizing the parts of those scripts you really need.

I can't say about the URL you mentioned. The one I have been using is
the mirror by William Hubbs, which is:

git://hubbs.homedns.org/speakup.git

That's the main git repo, yes. There are 2 other mirrors that I'm
aware of, Chuck gave you one of them.
