Hi, Patching speakup into kernel 2.6.22.1 results in the following rej 
files. What command can I use to restore the orig files or should I 
just re unpack kernel sources? Patching files [p1 out of 1 hunk FAILED

This is a know issue, discussed at length in the "gentoo drops
speakup" thread, or something similar to that thread subject
anyway. The short answer here is that if you want to use speakup,
you'll need to do it with 2.6.21.x. If you want to use 2.6.22 or later
as of now, then you'll need to use them without speakup patched in.

If you haven't been reading the list recently, speakup does not yet work 
with 2.6.22, due to some major changes in that kernel version.
