Hello,
I realize this is off topic for a Linux list, but I remember reading here that a developer of a screen reader for DOS was a list member here? I was just curious where the program he developed could be found. I have an interest in possibly using DOSBox with some text-based games which become increasingly problematical to play in Windows or even Dosemu under Linux.
Might someone be so kind as to forgive the OT nature of this post and tell me where the screen reader can be found, and how to install and such?
Thanks,
Zack.

You did search the list archives, right?
Hmm, looks like the url has changed since the last time I checked, so
searching the list might not have helped, unless the url redirection
that happens when you go to the main page also applies to downloads
and other pages as well. Well, here it is:
http://public.chuckh.ftml.net/provox7.zip
Thanks for keeping this up there Chuck. I wasn't kidding when I wrote
you way back when, that provox is still useful (grin).

Zach,
I recently moved my web site to the address shown in the signature
below. You can fine the package for provox7 there. It is no longer
supported, and I have no DOS environment here to play with, so if you
can make it work, fine. The manual file should be enough to get you
going with it.

Thanks, Greg. I should read ahead before jumping to reply <smile> But

Hi,
Brltty has support for DOS that should work with any braille device
connected on serial port.

Chuck,
I almost sent this privately, but realized others might be having the same
problem.
I get the following when using both the link in your signature, and the
direct link to the dos screen reader given.
Ideas,
Karen
here is what I get.
User page unknown
The page you have tried to access is not a valid known user. Please
check that you have the correct URL and try again.
I am using Lynx btw.

Karen,
Sorry for the internet game of tag here. For a brief time I was using a
web address which I have now simplified some. The correct address is
now (and will remain):
http://hallenbeck.ftml.net
The first link on that page is to a list of available software, but the
direct path to what you want is:
http://hallenbeck.ftml.net/provox7.zip
I just checked that from here and it works for me.
