* keyboard interupt @ Igor Gueths ` Gregory Nowak ` John covici 0 siblings, 2 replies; 5+ messages in thread From: Igor Gueths @ UTC (permalink / raw) To: speakup -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Hi all. I recently needed to modify a RIP (Recovery Is Possible) disk and put Speakup into a 2.6.17.1 kernel I compiled for it. However, I am noticing that I am only able to interupt speech very late in the boot process. As a result, this adds about 5 minutes to what I would say should be about a 30-45 second boot, since my Dectalk is stuck reading most of the kernel messages. Does anyone know how I can make sure I get keyboard support loaded earlier on instead of wherever it gets loaded now? Or am I pretty much stuck with the way things are now? I'll probably end up checking out the latest CVS at some point too. I've been having variants of this problem ever since kernel 2.6.6. Sometimes it almost goes away entirely, which is the case with 2.6.17.1 running on my laptop's Slackware installation.
