is anyone having trouble applying speakup cvs patches to 2.6.16.10/11,
specifically to vt.c?
Cheers,
Josh

Actually, speakup patches into 2.6.16 just fine, I'm running a version
of 2.6.16 with speakup patched in as I write this.

Speakup cvs does not work any longer on kernels below 2.6.16. To
further more, currently speakup in cvs is broken since I put Gilles
patches in. I will hopefully get a chance to fix that in the next day
or so.

I had this problem a couple of days ago. I am retrying it now to see if
the problem was fixed. I think it is Speakup itself; it wouldn't patch
the 2.6.16 either.

Hmm, well, I shall try that again. I just tried into 2.6.16.11 again
and it failed at vt.c.

No, you misunderstood me. I meant that speakup patches into 2.6.16
period. I posted my message, because your message indicated that
speakup didn't patch into 2.6.10 and up, and that it also didn't patch
into 2.6.16, and that it does patch into.

I said 2.6.10? Well, if that's the case, it was a typo. LOL

No, Speakup doesn't patch against 2.6.16 and probably no 2.6 kernels
since Monday. Gilles patches work OK, but I think they were incorrectly
applied against for CVS. Currently the CVS contains something like a
patch against a patch, at least for vt.c, which is of course incorrect.
I've already reported this to Kirk.
I think it was just some communication noise and it seems trivial to
fix, so I hope it will be working soon again.
With regards,
Hynek Hanke

Ok, I see. I patched my 2.6.16 kernel before Gill's patches went in.
