My new lady doth be cruel! (sad expression)

In the midst of "open Office", as I chose "everything" as suggested for we tyroes, I switched disks as asked. Now, lest you think me sloppy, I checked all 8
Fedora disks, even though my intention was/is to only install those elements on the first 4 Fedora discs to run things primarily textually... Alas, even though all
discs passed their check sum, Ms. Linux, my new dominatrix, refused to accept disc 2 as being the correct disc. I'm reburning it from the downloaded "iso"
image.

If this doesn't work, what should I do? What are my options at this point, having sarted the installation, and as I understand it, the system being now Linux
formatted, how do I properly abandon installation and restart if necessary???

Nick

T'is, apparently necessary, unless redownloading the image of the second disk, and reburning it does something more than my efforts with disk1 did... I'm
stuck! Help? What to do???

To: W. Nick Dotson, Speakup is a screen review system for Linux.

Hi,

Well, it's progress--and you will get there! <grin>

You need to make sure your entire set of four is truly a set from the
same version rev. Are you certain of that? Check the timestamps and byte
sizes of the iso images for clues. Here's the current list from the on
line directory:

-rw-r--r-- 1 wacker users 655851520 Dec 9 00:33 FC3-i386-disc1.iso
-rw-r--r-- 1 wacker users 664367104 Dec 9 00:36 FC3-i386-disc2.iso
-rw-r--r-- 1 wacker users 669239296 Dec 9 00:39 FC3-i386-disc3.iso
-rw-r--r-- 1 wacker users 409849856 Dec 9 00:41 FC3-i386-disc4.iso

Notice that these are time stamped yesterday. So, if you need to
download any again, I'm afraid it has to be the entire set.

As for resuming, that's not an issue. You essentially start over, vexing
as that certainly is.
