Hi.
Well, we have to do some linux work for school, so I got all the debian files to install.
All install went well, but after I configured in the module for my nic, and atempted to configure my network, it said that dhcp won't work.
My network is dhcp-based, and it said that the 81392 module installed successfully.
Is there a way to correct this?
Ameer

Hi. The Woody boot floppies don't have the corect config for DHCP. You
will need to use the Potato floppies and dist-upgrade to Woody.

Would it be possible to use a woody boot disk though? potatoe doesn't
support my hard disk with a 2.2x kernel, but a 2.4x does.

No, the problem with the Woody floppies is in the kernel config. If
you have Woody CD roms you could do the install from CD and build a new
kernel to get the support for DHCP.

If you have a working Linux system you could also build a custom kernel,
put support for all your hardware into it so you won't need modules, and
install that way.
Just make sure your kernel is still small enough to fit on the boot
floppy.
