Speakup with RH 8.0

Hi guys.

Not sure how many people notice this, but when using some programs
with RH 8 such as ftp, mysql and others while typing for some reason
Speakup starts reading from the beginning of the line each time a key
is pressed.  Anyone have any idea why this happens and how to fix it?

I've also sen this on a Mandrake system a while back, but on the
Mandrake system it did this while at the shell as well.

Its not related to speakup, its a bug in general where at times RH 8 starts redrawing the current line
whenever you push a key.
The same thing happens if you log in via ssh or telnet with a terminal program.
I suspect its something to do with a bad terminfo or termcap entry,
though i could never work out exactly what triggered it.

Hi, i have noticed that exact behavior you have described a number of time
with RH and Drake.
It especially, does it when you are running screen. I'm not suree why it
happens, but I would like to know if there is a solution.
I have an idea what may be causing this, but never got around to looking at
my idea and seeing if it works.
